We had a Christmas brunch with eggs, bacon and pancakes. :0)
After lunch, we sat down to watch a movie called "God's Not Dead". It was a gift given to us by a very trusted friend, but I have to admit, I was pretty cautious at first because I don't really like "these kinds of movies". But by the end of it, we were all but on our feet cheering!! It was EXCELLENT!!!!! One line that stood out to me was, "God is good. All the time. All the time, God is good." My life has been so simplified in the past couple of years that I could relate to that 100%. Sometimes life just crashes in on you and you wonder if you'll survive, or at the very least come out unscathed. Chances are likely, you won't come out unscathed, and the you that was hit with that blow that knocked you to kingdom come won't survive. But if you believe God is good. All the time. All the time, God is good, a new you will start to sprout and grow, and change and become a little more like the God you believe to be good. All the time.
After that, we watched "The Christmas Angel", which was so refreshing because the really nasty guy in "God's Not Dead" was in this one and he was a good guy. :0) It was a fun little Christmas movie!!! :0)
It turned out to be a pretty nice Christmas after all. :0)
Gifts found in Luke 2:
-"I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today, in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord."
-"This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger"- I love it that they didn't just have to believe the words, they could believe the evidence they were led to: the Baby in the manger.
-The Shepherds' belief in Luke 2: 15-20
-Simeon and Anna- dear old people who believed the Lord, loved Him and recognized Him when He showed up, even though He was a tiny Baby!!! (Luke 2:25-38
